Past Glory
#pastglory #knoletreegallery
Past Glory reimagines a dead tree, bringing life back to its bare branches. Strong sunlight illuminates its angular forms, cutting a magnificent silvery silhouette against the cobalt blue sky.
This emotive image simultaneously foreshadows its deterioration and alludes to its prime. Even majestic monuments fade over time. One day it will fall, become coarse woody debris, and transform into a source of food and habitat for multitudes of organisms, be recycled and regenerated.
Past Glory, Oil on Board, 61cm (h) x 44cm (w)
Past Glory is found at the north west corner of Knole Park
